Different Phases of Clinical Trials

Generally the clinical trials are broken down into different phases. Each phase has a different purpose within the trial. Phase 1 trials involve only a small group of people and they are concerned with determining a safe dose of the drug being studied as well as its probable side effects. In phase 2 the treatment or the drug is tested in more people higher than the former one for the further evaluation. This phase involves determining the time of the drug or the treatment’s effectiveness against the disease for which the patient is being treated. In phase 3 of a trial, the interventions are compared to the standards treatment’s effectiveness against the disease for which the patient is being treated. Phase 4 trials are conducted after a treatment has been approved for specific indicated conditions by the FDA.

The improvement in the clinical research and the clinical trials led to the greater development. One can see many clinical research centers in the developed cities like Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad and in many more places.
